At Law Offices of Nancy A. Norman, P.C., our attorneys have extensive experience in representing individuals and companies from other countries who are investing, operating or locating in Texas and the United States. In other words, we work on primarily “in-bound” transactions. At the present time, there is substantial interest by individuals and companies around the world in investing and operating in Texas and the United States. Currently, we represent clients originating from Japan, Canada, Bolivia and Mexico. We also have experience in working with clients from Europe and other parts of the world.
In the course of representing the non-U.S. client, our attorneys work with the special income tax and estate tax considerations for non-U.S. clients, deal with relevant U.S. tax treaties in regard to structuring debt versus equity for the investments, and structure the U.S. investment from an entity or entities standpoint. We seek to stay abreast of U.S. industry developments that might affect their U.S. businesses. Most importantly, and notwithstanding language barriers, we seek to communicate effectively with our non-U.S. clients. Importantly for matters concerning Mexico and Latin and South America, several of our attorneys speak Spanish.
The industries in which our non-U.S. clients are or have been engaged include the following: oil field services, food products importation and distribution, and the automotive industry.
International law is an exciting and interesting part of our law practice.
